My apologies about the lousy slideshow software for the 2007 photos... I'll get rid of it soon...

Some nice peppers and corn this year.
We visit Leanne in North Carolina and Isa has her 50th birthday.

Here are some of the photos from our trip to Africa during the summer of 2006.
During our first days in Africa, JoJo went back to school for two days at Parkview Junior School
in Johannesburg with his cousin Blake.
We drove out to Kruger with Blake and JoJo in the back seat of Robbie's Audi.
Storks, elephants, baboons, and a chocolate-colored giraffe.

We start with a herd of Cape buffalo and the day gets better and better.
We accidentially see a serval.

JoJo was baptised on 19 June 2004 at the Catholic church in Galena. His godparents are
Tim Bedony and Karen Lehmkuhl, a couple who atttend the church. Afterwards, we planted a tree in the
front of the church and watered it with his baptismal water.
Here are some photos of JoJo playing the role of the shepherd in the church
pageant at St. John Berchman's Catholic Church here in Galena. We also have
the usual doting photos of JoJo during the elementary school Christmas pageant, and
since we are a fair distance from the oppressive apparatchik at the ACLU, we actually use
the word "Christmas." Are we not intolerant slobs or what?
Isa's sisters Carla, Clara and Elena came to Florida during the summer of 2004 to visit the
American side of the family in July. They all stayed courtesy of my mom, who
had a home ready for them when they arrived. Everyone had a good time.

When the snow arrived in October, JoJo was thrilled. We went out and pulled him around on
the sled in the snow near our house.
We arrived in Galena in July 2001. We immediately set about exploring the community.
These are a series of photos taken by Ron Dalby on 4 April 1998, when JoJo was about 3 weeks old and
JoJo's parents were more svelte. Grandma and Grandpa were also there to be with JoJo.
I've worked through to the year 2007, where I am now confronting bad decisions. I used some canned software to create a slideshow
effect, which worked poorly. I have to replace it - but first I need to get to my mom's photos. One day I'll even do the weeklong
photo session like I did in the late summer of 2006.
18 Dec 2011
One of my personal goals this winter is the recreation of the photo pages. It's been about four years since I was here
presenting the photos to the family, and the issue reaching a peak with my mom's 80th birthday. I'm facing several boxes
of photos which need to find a home online, and this is the place to do it. Now I've got to get it together and
start scanning. Wish my luck.
